SD trucks do not get speeding tickets?

Road and Track

I know when we were test driving a F-350 6.7L for the first time my wife was up to 90 before she knew it, heh. And she doesn't have a lead foot either.

well, I've managed to get two tickets in my 3/4 ton pickup. One in town and one by not slowing down soon enough for a construction zone.
  • I think there might be some truth to the article. Most times I see some streamlined smaller car sitting ahead of the flashing lights. :h
  • Same with vans. Most police officers will not pull over mini vans as they usually have a mom or dad driving around during the kidos. I drive a Honda Odyssey and twice have seen other cars get pulled over for speeding while I was doing the same speed. A local police officer told me the best way at night to not be bothered is to turn on the rear DVD player and play some cartoons. The police do not want to wake up sleeping kids.
  • There's definitely some truth to cops pre-judging certain cars and laser/radar gunning them first. But, if it's 1AM on an empty highway and you scream by in a box truck you'd better expect to get pulled over,

I've been driving an HD truck for 10+ years and have my share of speeding tickets.
  • Knock on wood, there's some truth to that article. From someone who's put the better part of a million miles on company construction work trucks and most personal miles being being in a pickup as well, cops are generally more forgiving of me when I'm the workin man than when I'm in a personal rig or sports car.
I would say calling a work truck immune to tickets though is a little tongue in cheek. Still got a ticket or 10 in work trucks!
  • You wanna run that by the local RCMP, they don't seem to be aware of it.:R
