They were then able to release The Club and use it to apply a huge amount of torque to the steering wheel and break the lock on the steering column (which most cars were already equipped with).
The pro thieves actually sought out cars with The Club on them
because they didn’t want to carry a long pry bar that was too hard
to conceal."
This makes me chuckle as I remember a guy at work that had the crappiest Jeep Grand Cherokee around. He hated that vehicle with a passion, as it gave him nothing but trouble. But, whenever he arrived at work, he would faithfully whip out the Club and install it, even though it was a private lot and was in a very low crime area.
