I believe we agree 100% so far. I don't fear a wheel falling off of a c clip vehicle. I just don't think the design is a proper way to outfit a hauler. And From my understanding it is the cost of production that has made the c clip prevalent today. From what raerguy said above, I believe the Tundra is a tapered bearing semi floater. Searching for a c clip for a 2014 Tundra. I couldn't find any available. And reading through repair manuals it does use the 4 bolt retainer like on my Ford 9 inch. So there is the option for other than a c clip.
That's what I was looking for.
Does anyone have more info on the Dodge and GM vehicles. If I had the model numbers for the axles I could find out what I am looking for.
