Sewer 90 Degree Elbow Extension?

My camper has a sewer pipe that extends straight down. Sometimes reaching underneath the camper to attach the hose to the sewer pipe is awkward, especially if the dump station is not the cleanest and I don't want to kneel down.

This last trip I saw a camper with a 90 degree elbow on the sewer pipe. It looked like it was permanently installed, but I could not tell for certain. Connecting the hose to that elbow would be much simpler.

Anybody use this approach? Is the elbow glued on, or do you just use the mounting pins to hold the elbow and then transfer your sewer cap to the end of the elbow?

Thanks, and Happy Camping.

I recently went with the RhinoFLEX sewer hose which has a detachable 4-in-1 sewer inlet adapter. This is the best system I've ever used and I've tried them all.

X2 Best one I have ever used also.
  • You can use the clear elbows (45 or 90 degree) which use the mounting pins. Install one screw to prevent it from coming off. The kind with a water hose connection for cleaning can be useful.

On my TC, I use a straight extension (about 6-inches long), between my dump valve and hose/macerator. With it, I get no surprises if there is still waste in there. In my cam, I use the type with a hose connector, and I att a water hose shutoff. I can open the hose shut off before removing the cap. This will let me know if a valve has leaked, so no surprise there either.
