Sewer hose storage?

I've got a sewer hose storage compartment built in the rear wall of my tc.Thing is, it is useless. It will only fit 10ft of hose, no fittings. What do you guys do? And does anyone make use of the sewer hose cubbyhole?

  • Our old camper had no avail house storage so I took a 5" diameter PVC pipe section, shaved a little on hose fittings and it mounts between the bumper and floor of camper with end caps. I had to drill a couple holes in the lid to attach a pull handle but that also is used as added security to keep it in place. 8000 miles ands counting with it staying put. Not real purrty but fee and works.
  • My last MH had a pvc pipe attached to the bumper that stored the sewer hose. My current rig has a 'sewer hose storage' compartment that, like yours, is useless (I use it to store dog-poop bags) so I keep my sewer hose in a plastic bin in a rear compartment. I may devise a better place at some point.
  • See photo #100 and on

  • I remember seeing a thead where folks made and attached a pipe with a screw on cap that would fit the hose to the side overhang inside the turnbuckles between the TC and truck bed. another person made and attached a square box with a hinged locking end cap and mounted it in the same place.

My 20' hose fits inside my Lance bumper comparment. i keep the 90* fitting in a zip lock bag in a rear outside compartment with my generator fuel.
