The really hard bit, was getting the white plastic liner to be flexible & fit in between the inner & outer
Parts of the marine window/port hole. I useda heat gun to make the plastic to be more flexible, with lots of white silicon sealer, being careful not to over the wall sandwich panel, as it started to melt.
Had to be careful. Cut the hole slightly oversize to allow for plastic gap liner to fit snugly. Camper walls are three times as thick as a boat, which is solid Fiberglass, so had to fill the gap. But it is how I wanted it.
Have since made an inner curtain, that is not transparent, to keep the sun out, and it rolls up, tied with Velcro.
Just remember that the roof too, on your Lance will be much thicker than a boat as well, and will require some sort of liner between the inner and outer walls as well!

Doug - sweet porthole up front. We ended up having Lance install a small slider in their, as well as two fixed panes in the sides of the slide. But that one in the bedroom is a tremendous thing for ventilation, especially cross ventilation. Pretty slick little window you have there.

I am seriously thinking about replacing my nearly dead heiki hatch with a marine replacement. Not sure if worth the effort and hassle, but it has to go anyway so worth looking at. Might even be easier than a heiki. Pretty straightforward install for your little porthole? If I find a unit made for the right size rough opening, it might be just the ticket.

New Port Hole Window Installed yesterday.






Whilst preparing and cutting the hole, it was hot, but as soon as hole was cut, you got air/ventilation, straight away.

Port hole, opens inside, has flywire screen, and being marine, is water proof.

Now to make a curtain, solid backing, so not transparent, using Velcro & snap on studs, and rollup. Have some spare fabric from Eagle Cap, same as windows & Headboard.

Thanks for the pictures of the Super Springs Doug! One other question though is do the factory overload spring stops on the frame touch the Super Springs when loaded?

Since the install of the Super Spring Commercial 6000lb+ sitting on the lowest setting(there are three higher, depending on the bolt position of the over bracket.), this position without the load makes the rear end 1 inch higher, and with load front end fender/guard is 8.5 inches above tire and rear fender/guard sits at 9.25 inches above the top of the tire. No Sag and since the install of front Timbrens, there is little or no Hop/Bounce

I initially installed Helliwig Big Wig, then Super Springs 6000lb+ Commercial, the Timbrens.

I still have Rancho 9000xl's in the garage not yet installed, but currently ride, is a lovely glide. Like a big Aircraft Carrier, just
rides firm & smooth.

Timbrens & the Super Springs have made a HUGE difference!

Yet, when unloaded, tires down from 80 to 70, Ram 3500 is firm but not uncomfortable.
