Why are you so hung up on using 6th gear?
Do you think you're going to get better mileage? Do you think it's hard on the motor? Do you think it's hard on the tranny?
The bottom line is your engine does not have enough power to pull 6th gear with your combo. It needs to spin tighter to make the power it needs to hold a certain speed.
