I was hoping there was a good work around. Maybe someone has reflashed their computer and they can still use 6th.
Why are you so hung up on using 6th gear?

The bottom line is your engine does not have enough power to pull 6th gear with your combo. It needs to spin tighter to make the power it needs to hold a certain speed.
I am hung up on the 6th gear because I have 6 gears and I was hoping to use all 6 gears.
I did think being in 6th would get me better gas mileage.
I did not think it would be hard on either.
Now I understand that it might be and that I should not have it in 6th when towing.
