And sounds like with your "friends" experiences you should stay away from turbos! Your group, unlike most, seems to eat turbos regularly!
Hence why I avoid them like the plague.
One other thing - I did not know there were 2 overdrives. I know towing in overdrive is not a good thing. An even more of an overdrive? Even worse.

On the other side, my next truck will be a diesel. Live and learn. Till then, 5th or lower.
If your next truck is a diesel then you'll still have a turbo.
All of my friend's cars were gas with turbos. I have worked with diesels with turbos and love them. I do not like the urea needed for them though.
