shock absorber advise for towing 5th wheel

Question

I have a 2007 Silverado 2500HD Crew cab and tow a 9,000 pound fifth wheel with 1,700 lb pin weight. The truck has the stock shocks and I am looking to upgrade. I have looked at Bilstiens and KYB. Anyone had any experience with them?

Pull an 11K 5er with my 01 Ram 2500, Bilstien 5100's did the trick for me.

KYB are basically OEM while Bilstien are more performance oriented. Both are very good products. I would go Bilstien.

... I did the Koni FSB shocks ( check out how they work! ) &amp; satisfied when / when not towing;  NOT Cheap;  just GOOD...

The KYB monomax shock is exactly the same design as a bilstein - but the valving and nitrogen pressure are much better suited for a heavy load.   I used to be a bilstein guy - now running kyb monomax and not looking back.jeff
