Shock Absorbers

What brand is everybody using on 3500 trucks? I was a big fan of KYB Monomax on the Suburban, but see they only have them for the rear of my Ram, not the front...odd...

The KYB Excel-G and Gabriels are junk IMO, I had the Bilstein 4500's on the Suburban and they were very soft...the only others I see besides OEM are Ranchos?
  • I wonder if a tuneable shock company like King could set up camper truck shocks tuned for the actual weight vs one size fits all...

I installed Bilstein 4600's over the winter, very much improved ride and control over the stock shocks. I wish I would have upgraded earlier.
  • We like our Bilsteins ... Camper runs about 3100 lbs, wet and camping :) on our Chev 2500HD 4x4 SB.
  • I swapped out the stock Ford shocks for Bilstein 5100's. Been pleased with them. Have about 50,000 miles on them with the camper and no issues so far.
