WHat about tires? Stock it has come with Michelins which are road tires. We go outer beach camping so I need something to air down and drive over the dunes, yet also give some good mileage over the road. Any thoughts??
Since I've owned my F350 I've had the OEM tire, Nitto Terra Grapplers on stock 16" rims, a complete set of 19.5 wheels and tires and finally wound up installing (from Les Schwab) 18" with Toyo Open Country AT IIs size 285/70/18 rayed at 4080lbs. This final set up is by far the best handling, they have great traction, great wear and feel extremely solid under my camper. - mellowExplorerI use Nitto Terra Grapplers, they work well in the sand and have 3600lb E rating. Smooth riding AT tire on the road. I just upped the size from a 275 to the 305 R16's.

- snoboyExplorerKYB Monomax.
- 996PilotExplorerBilstein 4600 all the way. For me, they were Baja proven (and I mean hard use dirt Baja every single day). Before Bilstein's I used to chew through shocks in 6-12 months. Once I changed to Bilstein's, well I sold all of my trucks with them on after years of Baja use.
- sonuvabugExplorerBilstein fan here ...
- mellowExplorerRancho 9000's here as well, they run a good summer rebate special, just make sure to keep the box lid as you will need it for the rebate, I was a dummy and threw mine away during install. They work great so far for me, like mentioned take apart the adjustment knob and fill it with grease, I used marine grease in mine.
- TiziExplorerRancho 9000s here. Huge improvement over stock. I run the highest setting in back and 2 notches lower in the front.
- +1 for KYB Monomax
- RubiranchExplorerI have a 2011 Chevy 2500 with 137,000 miles on it.
My camper weights 4000 lbs.
I just returned from a 2800 mile trip down the coast with the original factory shocks still on the truck.
I think they are on the down side of their life. ;)
I will most likely replace them with KYB Monomax.
