I was in the same situation you are I have a 27' T/T it weighs just over 6k loaded. I wanted something that was going to be a driver most of the time, set low, got good gas mileage, had a nice ride and could pull my T/T. I bought a 1/2 ton with tow package 2010 GMC crew cab 4wd 5.3, it does every thing I want it to do. really like the power train, the engine has plenty of power the 6 spd. works great and it gets about 23 mpg on the hi way not towing. the ride is nice and smooth and its easy to get in and out of.
