shopping for trailer

Last year I bought a new Ram 1500 and gave up the idea of going to a class C. I went trailer shopping today and found a coleman camper at camping world we liked. I did a little research before we went to find out who makes coleman. Finding out it was Dutchmen, a name i've heard of, I was ok with it. Well on the side of the camper there is a sticker that says manufactured by the Keystone RV company. :? does keystone manufacture for dutchmen?? I like the camper and really dont care who makes it, i'm just looking into this. It looks alot like my 2004 coachmen spirit of america we had. Not much has changed although it does have a few more amenities my coachmen didnt. Power awning with LED bar, 4 stabilizer jacks, bluetooth stereo with exterior speakers. It's a nice unit on sale for 13,150. It's a 2017 CTS274BH. I have some work to finish up on the house before i buy this, but I may pull the trigger on this rig.

  • My how time flies! I did not buy the coleman camper, life happens and plans change. Now, a short 2 years later, we just bought a 2015 Jayco Jay flight 26BH. We pick it up on Wednesday. We can't wait to get back to camping and make some new memories. Here are a few pictures.

  • At this point it is hard to tell what if any consolidation has happened in the TT industry.

The RV industry is booming so there is little incentive to change the status quo.

The main point is the majority of the TT market is price driven. More cost, more features. The quality seems to be uniform across the industry.

Some brands are known for their higher quality or unique construction which is also reflected in their price.

Have a bad experience with coleman campers?
  • This TT seems ok. Impressive grey and black holding tanks at 42 gallons each. Good for extended dry/boondocking.
