- parcanyExplorerLast year camping there was a rash of stolen electric cords. The ones that have the threaded ends and plug into the electric box. Real easy way of selling the copper for money I was going to make the change until I heard that. Also what I do is pull the cable out all the way and don't overlap it, and when that is done I take a piece of steel wool and put it into the electric hole then close the door and there is no way any mice are going to get in.

First thing I got rid of. Hate the threaded ring and the potential fire hazard right in the wall. - LynnmorExplorer

My next trailer will get this treatment for sure. Not only because it will avoid the "plug falling into the hole" issue but because it will eliminate another place for mice to get in.
That little slide door thing will NOT stop them from using the cord to climb in if they want too. - phillygExplorer II

When mine was tangled and stuck, I just kept twisting and pulling, one direction, and another. I could have broken the seal around inlet, after removing the screws, but I got it without, just took a while.
I then took it all the way out, laid it in the sun until warm. I coated it with 303 protectant, put it back in by coiling it into hole. No problem since.

- 4aSongExplorerIn our previous travel trailer there was a wood compartment that the cord was shoved into, I removed the cover from the inside of the trailer (if I recall it was just stapled onto the storage compartment) and made the cover removable by installing four wing nuts so if it ever decided to get stuck I had access to the area where it was stored. The cord never got stuck after making this modification.

Jerry - Luv_CampinExplorerMine did this once. I figured out where the cord slid in to the camper. It was behind a wood panel. Got the little square screwdriver and took the panel off and got the knot out of the power cable.
- Anmacc2ExplorerIf I take off the outside plastic protector my wife can slide her hand in there..... I don't know how that can help you though. I've learned that by uncoiling it before I put it in prevents tangling.
