- Cummins12V98Explorer IIIHeck I am over 6' and i use the BenK method. The reason is I don't want to wear the edge of the leather seats by sliding in and out.

Juts asked my wife, whom is 5"1"" tall. She drives our 3500 more than I do.(Because she is the better driver!) She says that with running boards, she has had no problems.
She said:"You just have to get over the fact that the truck is not a car."
I think she meant that unlike a car where you slide DOWN into it, with the truck, you enter standing up.
We both use the method that Benk outlined on page one. Works well. - MaxnSamsmomExplorerI am SO glad I posted here - not only have I had some very good suggestions but I've also had some great laughs from the suggestions this morning!

Take a look at the AMP Research Power Steps. They drop when the door opens and raise when the door closes. They hang lower than a dealer installed step. They are a bit pricey at around $1,000. What's a another $1,000 when you already have so much invested.
X2. We have had them for about 4 years and they work great. They drop really low and shorter folks have no problem getting in. - alboyExplorerJust Picked myself off the floor ,now a aching gut, Too Funny!!!
- 45RicochetExplorerDang that Ram ain't that tall Troy. Those Blackies climb 200' trees around here though which is fun to watch. My darn dog will tree two at a time and keep running from tree to tree when they try to escape. Really good until the sow comes back into the picture :W

Just joking OP but it might make your exit a bit softer :B
More joking... As the exit is not pretty.- 45RicochetExplorer
Just joking OP but it might make your exit a bit softer :B - PowerdudeExplorerYou could Redneck Bubbah it and put a set of running boards on the truck, and another set of running boards screwed into the "upper" running boards.
Make sure you put some lights on dem things, and a HUGE exhaust stack that goes higher than that 5th wheel too.
Add some mud guards that hang down real low to the ground too, with a couple of BIG knockers on them. :E
That would make the truck a real truck !! - rhagfoExplorer III

What were you thinking when you bought it?
He was thinking correctly the correct tool for the correct job, he is pulling a 5er, likely larger as he did get a 3500.
Then again, why not slam that 3500, lower it right down to the ground, solve getting in and the bed height issues. :B
Seriously the retracting running boards look great, but pricy.
