Not all 861's are created equal, we have every option except for solar. Not all 861's came with generator, awnings...etc. which add up in weight. 3/4 ton lots of guys do it no problems, 1 ton with ANY truck camper just makes life easier when you want to buy either a bigger or smaller camper. Don't buy your truck based on MINIMUMS, always go bigger 3500 or even 4500
