- greendeExplorer III had a 2008 2500 CC 6.5' box and now have a 2011 3500 CC DRW 8' box. Mileage is the same but the motors are different between those years. 2008 had no 9th injector and no DEF.

Only difference will be in unloaded ride quality with the 3500 riding a bit firmer in the rear.
Which I'm hoping to overcome with the longer WB on the Crew Cab vs my current Ext Cab. I know there will be an improvement in ride quality while towing with a longer WB . . . Not that I'm disappointed with the current set-up. - N-TroubleExplorer

Thanks for the input and yes, I'm trying to compare a 2016 3500 SRW with a 2016 2500. This would be a daily driver for a couple more years so I wouldn't want to feed the beast any more than necessary. I'm currently in a 2011 2500 DMax.

+1. Comparing SRW 2500 vs 3500 they are effectively the same in terms of anything that would affect mileage. Now if were talking 3500 Dually vs 2500 SRW then yes your going to take a small mileage hit with the dually. - AUwing2ExplorerThanks for the input and yes, I'm trying to compare a 2016 3500 SRW with a 2016 2500. B.O. - thealexdexterExplorerI have a 3500 dmax. If newer than 2011 it is identical to 2500 except leaf springs so milage will be the same. I have seen 27mpg on highway unloaded. City with traffic usually around 15. Loaded with camper on mix of conditions about 12. Yet to be seen when I hit the mountains what I will get.
- therinkExplorerI have owned both 2500 and 3500 (not dually). Mileage will be the same if both Dmax. If dually, I don't know but I assume a bit less due to addl weight and more tires.
- corvettekentExplorerI would think that they would be the same for the 2500 and 3500 SRW and a little less for the 3500 DRW. I get 11.5 pulling my '32 5th wheel.
