- MARK_VANDERBENTExplorerJust curious if you are starting to see the new GM trucks where you are from ???
- tomman58ExplorerI've only "Viewed" the Silverado on line but did stop in and looked at the GMC today. Yes I agree they are built on the same line (Heck, used to work at the truck plant several times and watched them build em) sp I agree there are many parts the same but the sales guy said they have changed a lot on the GMC so that it would command more money and have a different appeal rather than just a work truck.
I've owned plenty of Chevy's and GMC's so I will continue to but I did see some differences and once I get downtown or to a dealer I check them out more.
I am really looking at the 2500 diesel again anyways and I likely will have to choose between a car and the truck in the summer. Buying both is a big cash outflow. - TargaExplorerWe went with a Chevy over a GMC for reasons already mentioned but I can understand why people choose a GMC, I think the GMC's are the best looking trucks out there, the looks just didn't sway us enough to pay the price premium over our Chevy.

The zaleman told you tgeg GM "dumbed down" the Chevy? But there is only $800 difference. You know anytime a car salesman's talks 90% of what is coming out is BZ right?
The GM/Chevy trucks are produced on the same assembly line (at least they use to be), other than badging and some "bling", here and there, the trucks are identical...Reason I always purchased a Chevy over a GMC...and I did for a LOT of years....was because I got the exact same truck for a cheaper price....believe the GMC was some sort of a "status symbol"....well, it did cost more, but it didn't "out perform" the Chevy any more than the Chevy out performed the GMC.
Oh, I forgot...it was a "Salesperson" that offered this "jewell of wisdom about being "dumbed down" er...how do you "dumb down" a truck???:R.... - Perrysburg_DodgExplorerThe saleman told you that GM "dumbed down" the Chevy? Man I need to get a phone with a bigger screen or better glasses LOL
Don - tomman58ExplorerWent to the GMC dealer today. Wow what a truck and it really, really quiet. Even the wheel wells are softened to minimize noise. Liked most things about it. Did like the position of the usbs, phone chargers and the 110v outlet (yes a 110 v outlet cool) would like them better facing the pother way but that's me.
On another note, the GMC is not just a re-badged Silverado it is upscale and really a better truck (800 bucks more than the Chevy) Salesguy says the dumbed down the Chevy to make it more like a work truck. The GMC has really a lot of new stuff and a new shorter bed if you want one. Unfortunately they had no info on the 2500's and they won't be out till late summer. Can't hardly wait for the new diesels (which he said were going to be really nice). - tomman58Explorer

Nice truck Chevor, congrats. Love the bed with your kind of work. But..... GM really needs to relocate that DEF tank, it looks hideous to me anyway. That tank alone would steer me away from buying one. Guess it makes putting DEF into it easier :W
Again congrats and may it serve you well.
We have a 5 Silverados in the Border Patrol and had to replace 3 tanks because of ground clearance........dumb idea big time!
I'll try to remember that the next time I go racing across the desert! - ForestGumpExplorer

That rag mag should have given the award to this guy.....Oh well looks better any way!
To bad you can't get them here in the states. Looks like a Nissan, wonder why they don't make all of their own vehicles? We built their mini van until last year, so now they no longer have a van. Not slamming VW I had a Jetta TDi and other then having the stereo replaced three times never had a service issue with it. Would recommended VW to anyone looking for a well built vehicle.
Don - NC_HaulerExplorerTheir ratings on Electronics, some appliances along with several other categories, almost makes it seem as though they ARE posting ad's;... I Was a CR subscriber for years and years and years, so I have looked beyond the auto/truck ratings....still a rag in my opinion, thus, not a subscriber anymore...they have far more "misses" than they do, "called that one right" end results.
OFF TOPIC..I know, I apologize, got off topic, .. but as ugly and hateful as a lot of the post got on the topic " Silverado, "top truck" , flaming CR made it all worth while:)
