Simple truck camper
There was an early discussion thread about simple, inexpensive living and camping. Looks like Travel Lite has come up with a camper just for that market. Rayzr Truck Camper

When you're starting out at 1100 to 1200lbs with an empty camper, you're not leaving the typical 1/2 ton owner with much room for anything else.
These campers, when loaded and ready to camp, are still going to require airbags or
some other suspension assistance on most 1/2 ton trucks, will be blowing past GVWRs and pushing axle ratings.
FYI
The camper loading information paper that came with my RAM stated max cargo rating is 930 lbs.
The Rayzr SS is said to weigh 925 lbs.
So it would work on my very light duty RAM 1500.
If we add three passengers at 150 lbs each we get 1380 lbs. with the Rayzr SS model camper.
RAM's web site using my VIN number gives a Max Payload of 1,522 lbs. and Max towing of 4,950lbs.
The Rayzr SS should be fine in my very light duty 25 mpg truck.
