Single A/C on 30 amp

I realize its probably been covered elsewhere. I have a 2012 Jayco trailer with a single A/C unit. Due to our next house posession date, we are living in our trailer for 5 weeks. I have two twined inverters but do not really want to bring them unless I have to. The campsite we are staying at only has 30 Amp. Is that enough of an amperage to run the A/C in the daytime.
Cheers,

  • I can run my 15K AC on a 20 amp outlet at my house. Can't run much more than that though.
  • Hi,

The Sola Basic or Hughes autoformers can allow the safe running of a roof air conditioner. I know from personal experience that the Sola unit boosts the voltage during the start up of the air.
  • My AC has popped the breaker in the past, and found out it was a 20a breaker. Last trip, with nothing else really running, the 20a shore power plugin handled our AC just fine - no long extension cord though.
  • You should have no problem running the AC with 30A hookup. You still have to do some managing, not run AC, microwave, hair drier, and electric WH at the same time.
