When I needed a replacement for the crappy OEM light that crumbled in 5 years the clear was warranted for 1 year and the cloud was warranted for I think 5 years. Apparently the clear model lacks much UV protection. I don't know if all manufacturers are the same but it was the deciding factor for me. I really wanted clear but didn't want to have to repeat the rather involved installation in a few years.
