My rig.
A new RAM with the V6 and 8 speed transmission is worth a look.
Just returned from a nearly 3000 mile trip to Las Vegas and Prescott, AZ.
Took a picture of my dash upon return.
Yes it's correct 2996.5 total miles driven and the full-sized Ram delivered 26.3 miles per gallon on regular gas.
Almost unbelievable but my wallet is not as thin as trips like this used to make it.
Also notice the occupants are in the middle of the truck.
The RAM has coil springs all the way around.
SO the ride is wonderful and very quiet, all in all a very pleasant way to drive 3000 miles.

WE did stay in motels on this trip!
A truck with a camper shell can be a good way to go.
