Sleep under a camper shell instead of truck camper?

I am exploring ideas. I'm not totally discounting possibility of buying a truck camper (or something else), but my main need is for a place to sleep from time to time when on the road. I have 2008 Nis...

Not practical, for safety and economic reasons.

Truck beds aren't sealed - they have drain holes. Carbon Monoxide will find its way in to the truck bed.
