Sleeping bags vs. sheets & blankets

Is anyone using sleeping bags rather than sheets and blankets in the tent ends of your HTT? Putting sheets on the beds and keeping them tucked in has been a hassle. I'm thinking about getting everyone (3 of us) a sleeping bag and either lay them out flat with a sheet on top during warm weather and then use them conventionally during cooler weather. I'm open to thoughts and ideas!
  • When we had a pop-up we used sleeping bags that had zip out liners/sheets.

Best of both worlds. Easy to make and easy to wash after a trip.
  • Hi Pen,
We have always used sleeping bags in our hybrids. We are on our second hybrid now. We camp 30 to 40 nights a year. You are so right. Putting sheets on is a waste of time and patience. When you break camp you just stuff the sleeping bag in its stuff bag and you are done. Putting it back on is a piece of cake. Just throw it up there and add the pillows. Takes about 2 minutes. I can't understand why anyone would mess with trying to make up a bed in a hybrid unless they have 4 arms and 2 of them are 5 feet long.
  • With my Atigua's we always used fitted sheets. Way more "homier" to sleep in, a down duvet also came with us when the temps where a little cooler in the off season camping.

Also only use fitted sheets in the roll out bunk in the KZ.
  • We used comforters. They are doubled like sleeping bags but much easier to get into or clean.
  • My only thought is that it's easy to throw a sheet into the washer. I've not had much experience with keeping sleeping bags clean. We camp for five weeks every February and several weekends the rest of the year, so we have to wash our sheets fairly often.
