Three of us were all over that slide (me, my husband, and our mechanically inclined neighbor), and there just is no access port to the motor, other than a very small cut out under the dinette seat to get to the manual crank bolt. The motor can be seen through that port, or through the front panel, between the floor of the slide and the top of the mechanicals. The motor is mounted so that the screws are occluded by the drive shaft. From what we can tell, it seems that the gear drive is broken somehow tight at the motor. The manual crank on that end does not move the room, but on the other end of the drive shaft is how we are opening and closing it with a ratchet on the nx nut on that end.
Sleepy, your advice is sound. More thinking, more examination, we've contacted Bigfoot and Happijac, hopefully that will get us somewhere.
