Slide out gap bigger on botton that top when closed

Hi All, We just traded in our Truck camper for a travel trailer so slides are new to us. We noticed our slide, when closed, has a gap of about 2 inches on the bottom and the top is flush with the side. My question is: Is this normal? the dealership where we bought it from basically dismissed my question about it. I've looked at Schwintek slides videos until I'm blue in the face but haven't gotten a warm and fuzzy about it. Anyone there have the same issue?
  • Just make sure that you hold the in and out buttons until the motors kick out. that keeps them in sinc and wont hurt the motors. You will hear them kick out
  • Ours is that way also. Seal is great but bottom definitely comes up before slide stops when retracted.
  • 2" seems like a lot- call the manufacturer and see what they say, also they might be able to recommend another repair shop or mobile tech
  • Often slides are setup so the top contacts a bit before the bottom and then the bottom pulls in till the whole thing is even. What you have is beyond belief and you need to have it repaired.
  • My previous camper was like that. Had it for 12 years and never had a problem. Question is, does it make adequate contact with the seal all the way around? If not, insist that they fix it.
