The trick to avoiding ice build up on the slide top is to periodically remove it when it's still snow but unless it's light, fluffy stuff you're going to need a ladder and broom as no leaf blower is going to remove heavy, wet snow or ice.

ONLY a ladder and a means to sweep snow or chip ice off the top of the slide is going to work in these conditions. A slide topper would sag from the weight of snow and although that could be offset somewhat by inserting a couple of pool noodles on the slide roof that would require ... you guessed it - a ladder. :W
