Looks like someone needs to list some things from the non-slide side of the world. The slide does weigh more and we are always towing a trailer so the 2-300 pounds can be an issue. The slides I have been around were very drafty and made keeping the camper warm an issue. My non-slide camper has way less maintenance to worry about and I don't use up my batteries running the slide in and out. The biggest difference may be the lower cost of most non-slide campers.
