I would add that the slideout is a drawback if you like to stop a lot along the way and be able to quickly and easily get into the camper.
Secondary consideration is that the slideout mechanism will fail and when it does while out camping which is when it is most likely to happen it will have an impact on the trip. There is also the time and expense to get it repaired.
There is also a weight penalty which could reduce the amount of gear taken by several hundred pounds depending upon the truck.
The more time you spend inside the camper and the longer your stays are in one spot the more advantageous the slidein(s) become.
At a certain point though a large camper with slideins as with a dry bath means having to use a DRW which has its own set of limitations and liabilities.
