Not with a AF, but with my Lance, I've used my manual slide-out crank. Remember to turn off the electric motor brake or you will have to really crank hard! Also, it's a good idea to test this back up method before you need it. My electronics quit on me and I had to hand crank my slide. Then the crank handle broke!!
Instead of starting with a large enough diameter shaft and grinding it down to the right allen size, Lance uses a smaller diameter and welds on the end. Here are photos;
I used a socket of the correct size and JB Weld to repair it;
Also, an allen socket would have done the trick, but they cost more and would have broken up my set;
I went with using the original allen end that busted off because it had a deeper reach;
