If successfully starting a roof mount A/C with a genset is the issue then the better solution would be a 13,500 BTU A/C equipped with a Micro-Air Easy Start Soft Starter Kit powered with the new Honda EU2200i which is significantly more powerful than it's 2K predecessor or indeed any 2K inverter genset currently available. If the OP felt a 9200 BTU A/C would be sufficient the EU2200i would just laugh at the task. :p
I agree, because I have that exact combo setup, and it works. I have tested at 107 degrees and also at 7500 ft and it starts both in ECO.
