Small dehumidifier recommendation?

Time to purchase a dehumidifier. Inside my 27’ TT this morning was 70%+ humidity because the outside temp is around the inside (~76 degrees) and we had lots of rain.
Also need one for the cooler outside temps when humidity is high due to showers/etc.
Part of the problem is having a temp/humidity meter….maybe a “too much knowledge” thing.
Anyone know of a small “relatively light weight” dehumidifier?

Anyone tried the Eva-Dry Edv-2200 Mid-Size Dehumidifier? Looks interesting – weighs 8 lbs, good for 2200 cubic feet and ~$100 at Amazon.

We have an Eva-Dry Petite. $50 at Amazon. Quiet enough, and it works OK. It's good to put in the trailer's bathroom to help dry damp coats and shirts on those rainy days. (I put a coat rack system in the shower so my wet stuff can drip dry.)

X2 on the EvaDry units. I have the Petite model as well and it is just the right size for my interior of my 20' TT. You might want to get the next size up (the 2200)

  • lol... i have to run my HUMIDIFIER when i run my ac here in south Texas... i know it's some what fighting the ac but i wake up with nose bleeds if i don't... same in the house too
  • I also use the Soleus Air 30. Bought it at Home Depot. Ran great all last winter!

I read some bad reviews on the LG units. Only positive for the Soleus units.

  • I have been using a Soleus 40 pint model for 2-3 years. It it is very quiet, has the lowest power draw I'd found and has worked perfectly drawing a LOT of water out of the air. It also is said to work well in low temps. Keep the screen filter clean for best performance.
  • Do a web search and pick the highest rated one that fits your budget. I run it all winter at home. Makes a big difference
  • Either use Damp-Rid buckets (and put them in another plastic container just in case they spill -- calcium chloride can be caustic stuff), or get a compressor based dehumidifier. I have a Peltier based dehumidifer in my rig, and it is underwhelming to say the least, as it doesn't pull much water out.
  • I just use the Damprid buckets...they contain large desiccant packets that help draw moisture out of the air. They are fairly cheap, don't require electricity and don't make noise but it takes some time to notice a reduction in humidity.
