Smart tiles

Hello campers

I've been toying with installing the peel and stick smart gel tiles for a backsplash in my travel trailer. I've seen lots of post of people saying they loved it and post their photos. My question are for the people who had them on for a while. I'm curious if the trailers that have had these on for a year or two. Has anyone had issues with them peeling off of fading colors? Was curios how they do with the constant traveling and bumpy roads. For some reason I can never find an follow up info on people that have installed these. Currently i stuck one of their samples on the wall in my storage compartment in a hidden spot and I'm going to see how well it sticks throughout the summer time heat.. I have also looked at several other manufactures and it appears the smart tile is one of the better adhesives, so I'm only interested on that brand installation. Any comments or information is much appreciated.

  • I got samples of several different types. Personally I thought the smart tiles looked cheap and wouldn't hold up well. But, to each his own.

Ended up with metal Aspect tiles. They look like they will hold up for the life of the trailer, plus the prifile is a little flatter and they clean quite easily.
  • I installed the smart tiles 2 years ago. I guarantee rough roads have no effect on them after our Alaskan trip last summer.
  • If you're worried, install a metal backsplash. They are just as easy to keep clean and will wear longer than you own the trailer.
  • Mine trailer came with them installed. This will be our third summer. Look as good as they day we picked up the trailer.
  • Hello,

I installed mine a couple of years ago. They are holding up perfectly. No peeling and no fading. Even around the stove they are fine. I did wash the wall well first so they would stick as best as possible. I mixed a little bit of TSP with water and cleaned the wall surface. I only wish I did a slightly lighter color to brighten the interior.
