Are you prepared to shoot down satellites and drones that the government uses to "try" to control the border? Or don't you see them?

I only worry about things within my control....smart tvs, cell phones, OBD devices, info stored on computer etc.

I have a Roku 3. It has Ethernet and wifi for input signals. It has wifi, USB and HDMI for output. It also has an earphone jack in the remote. Once the earphones are plugged in the roku stops the sound to the TV and passes it to the remote. Remote has the volume control for earphones built in. Good for watching tv without disturbing anyone sleeping and no cord to bother with. Additional remotes can be purchased and paired for use with the roku. I got the roku since it is very portable and can take it with me camping if I want and have wifi available where stopped. I don't really need a smart tv.

By the way HOW TO STOP YOUR SMART TV FROM SPYING ON YOU.

Vizio was recently fined $2 million by the FCC for their selling of personal info. They were the very worst offender.

Add me to the dumb TV smart device plugged in camp- we have the Roku streaming stick with really dumb TV- works fine.

The term smart TV always makes me think of George Carlin bemoaning the stupid programming on TV- he tried turning the brightness control up but it didn't work :)

It's not the television that's the problem, it's the internet connection. We have a Panasonic (smart) TV in the family room of the house. Because of where we live, we have a line-of-site service, which requires a signal be sent from a cell tower.

Our Panasonic TV acted bad sometime, and the DVD/Blue Ray in the camper was really bad.

We took the plunge and beefed up our signal to a 10G which made all the difference in the world. No more pauses, freezes, or time-outs. Works great.

It's not the television, it's the internet service you're using that's causing problems.

Don't buy a smart TV. We have a Vizeo smart tv that is so bad we bought a ROKU Stick for it, now it is "smart".

I read a article on this very subject. Basically it said smart TV are not very smart. They are slow and the software sucks. So as many have all ready said whether or not you buy a smart TV. Buy a Roku or similar device it will run much faster and better than the smart TV ever would. We have a roku 3 with the voice search and it works great at streaming all the services including youtube.
