Thanks Soundguy. The problem with a switch is that the ceilings are so high in our 5th wheel that I need a step stool to reach it. I haven't measured but my ceilings have to be 10 feet high. I suppose I could move the smoke detector to the "Upper level" where it's easier to reach. Then a switch would work great.
