Just what we need on trailers that already have too many issues - more complication. :S - notevenExplorer IIIYes. It's a pain in the a$$. Swept loose snow off, unlimbered ladder, connected hose to the outside hot water tap, little bit of hot water to float the ice off the slide roofs. Hot water evaporates off the bodywork before it freezes sorta. Slides should have snow sensing heated roofs. :)

It's nice to have a floorplan that can also be used with the slide in.
Our current trailer is the first of many we've owned that has a slide but it's a shallow sofa slide that doesn't restrict interior access in any way if it's in. I don't have a topper and wouldn't as it's quite easy to just sweep clean of leaves, tree cones, needles, snow, etc. With a much larger deep slide maybe I'd consider a topper but as it is I do fine without. :) - bobndotExplorer II

X2, I think it freezes on the slide-top because of less insulation in that location. Also, slide awning-toppers makes it more difficult to clear that ice.

The rig seems to be warmer and easier to heat. ( less volume to heat plus a tight seal ). Pull it in during the night, you'll save propane . - FrankShoreExplorer

And we swept it off. No more problem. - carringbExplorer

We bring in the slides and the snow falls off the slide toppers. Works the same with leaves in the fall.
x2 - Snow was why I put them on. First trip in the snow without toppers I thought was ok, until ai got home and the floors were soaked, from the snow on the top of the slides melting after pulling them in.
I've only had to shovel them once (using a push broom), after a couple feet built up. That was too much for 3 of the toppers to sled while pulling them in. - JesLookinExplorerWe bring in the slides and the snow falls off the slide toppers. Works the same with leaves in the fall.

- Snow was easy. Inch of ice was more difficult.
