Thanks VT, I was going to go with a 2x10 of some type of wood down the entire length and choose to go a different direction as it seems once I put it up there the only real support it offered was along the edge of the camper. For me to use it down the entire length I would of had to shim it all the way down and this also would of covered the screws that you need to access to take the siding apart and roll it up. What I did by moving the 2x block up to the very front was put the load on the face of the front wall. Now I'm hoping that wont be an issue in the long run as I have not idea how this is internally constructed.
I put a lot of thought in the piece that you pointed out that is cracked and I think I'm going to make another trip to Hell Depot and grab a 4 foot piece of 1/2 aluminum angle. Cut it half way in and bend it to a 90. Ill use this like an "L" bracket on the opening and screw it from the inside. Hopefully this will help stiffen where the crack is.
You agree or does anyone see a bad outcome from this idea?
