Thank you AnEv942, I really appreciate the detail. I didn't go that way this round as I'm pressed for time to get this wrapped up for an early October trip. I plan on putting it in the warehouse for the winter to work on it in more detail and will revisit this.
What I did end up doing was using the aluminum and liquid nails as planned. It definitely tightened it up. I haven't tried to lift it yet as I want the liquid nails to cure but I can tell just by grabbing the tie down its much stiffer.
