I looks as if you made some good decisions re: a new smaller, less tall, lighter, narrower hard box. We need pix as soon as available. I would like to know what the curb weight is. You have made, more or less, much of the same choices as I did, except yours were choices; mine were serendipitous. It was just the only truck camper that was listed the day I picked up the L.A.Recycler in 2001.
Lance 165-s, 8.5 foot, xtra cab, short bed. 3 years old. $6500/used 3 times. We've used it hundreds of times. We're used to it. It's family now. We've certainly gotten our money's worth out of it.
With as much moxey as you have about TC-ing, your choice and extras (or lack of) should give you many trips of which to write and maybe even a tax write-off.
