Regarding the Heki heat build up:
With the sun hitting this the heat build up is horrible. I found 3/4" solid syrofoam insulation material with an aluminized film. I cut it to fit between the under the skylight but above the slider. I need to use cord to tie it in place so it does not jam the slider. This greatly reduce the heat build up in the bed area of the camper. I am sure there is a lot of heat at the top of the Heki. In addition the latches are black and absorb heat. I was afraid these would become brittle and break so I went on the roof and applied some duct tape strips to protect the latches from direct sunlight. The duct tape does not last very long so I recently painted those areas with white paint. I have no idea if that will last. If not, back to the duct tape. I am really unhappy with those latches. If one breaks the wind with buffet the cover and the other will break. These should have been metal latches, not cheap plastic.
