Regarding my decision to delete the Heki skylight option: We routinely see summer temps here in Arizona in the 100 to 113 degree F range. The heat build up would be horrible, even if I left the inner screen open. In light of these issues and the fact I need the roof space for solar panels, I decided to delete this option. It's a bummer, I know we would've like having one for the night time, stargazing views.
I know that's a tough decision. I love the skylight but if I were using the camper regularly in 113*F+ days, it would be a problem. Closing the screen does an amazing job of preventing heat loss in cold weather as well as block the heat coming into the camper. But you might be able to boil water in the air space above on your hot sunny days. Do note the latches are 2 position. Fully closed makes a very tight seal but there's also the option to leave the hatch open about half an inch and that can significantly reduce the heat buildup. Only problem is don't forget to close the hatch tight before driving off. That's when I broke my latch.
Leaving the sunshield open prevents heat buildup directly under the hatch but allows for a LOT of heat to build up in the bed area.
All things considered, I think you're making the better decision to delete the Heki. That leaves a lot of space for solar, and solar panels have the added advantage of offering shade for the roof.

PS: It's now clear why you're having AC installed at the factory. :)
