Rex gave us the same recommendation. The screen can be latched to the shade. We leave it latched and keep the shade 1/2-3/4 closed when traveling or out of the camper. There is some heat build up but is manageable and we have camped in temps in the low 90s. However, we might change our tune as we are heading out for an extended trip out west, specifically Colorado, New Mexico, North Texas and Oklahoma....so we shall see how it goes.
