I'd be holding out for total, and don't accept the first amount they offer you.
We had dollars increased to double what was first offered for a no fault accident a few years ago. I know this is different (home owners insurance) but my point is, Insurance companies are sometimes thought of as all powerful, and we just have to take what they tell us and go away. Not so. They do not want an unsettled claim on the books. They can be negotiated with!
Include damage (professionally repaired) to the lawn from the trucks on it. Had to have left gouges!
