I also have decided that given I have to park my trailer north/south, I am going to anchor it down on the west side. I've got some screw type ground anchors that I can strap to, just to hopefully avoid this ever happening again!Given the forces involved that turned your rig on it's side, I'd suggest to install concrete secured tie-down anchors. When I used to build steel buildings, we sank large concrete "doughnuts" into the holes and attached the posts to the "doughnuts". These were later backfilled with a few bags of cement and the rest, compacted soil. Even with these efforts, there were some cases of a wind event getting into the structure and pulling wall sections out of the ground.
I'm thinking for trailer tie-downs, you could use a 12" sonotube cut into 4' sections with a steel eye loop anchored into the concrete. If you don't like operating a shovel or post hole digger, hire out the hole digging. You can get a local guy with a tractor mounted auger to do it for peanuts.
