We have all seen it before. People leave their trash behind at a nice campsite or on the side of the road. To the extent we can, we pick up what is there to dispose of later but the process just leave...

Whoever said public garbage cans are lacking in number is correct imo.
Case in point. Sons hockey showcase in MN last weekend at the Super rink. 8 sheets of ice. Probably 600-800 players plus families and staff. Players had to dress outdoors due to Rona and all families hanging out outdoors.
Not a single (&)@@)ing garbage can outside. Every night there was piles of trash.
Who hosts an event for 1000 people and garbage cans are only indoors where you can only be during your game?
I tossed trash all over there. Because they were being stupid. So did everyone else.
What didn’t blow away or get picked by birds got cleaned up by the rink Staff at night... but still.
