Squeaky dinette table

Looking to see if anyone has a good solution to very squeaky dinette table. I wake way before my wife and as I sit at the table and enjoy my coffee and check emails and etc. the table legs squeak loudly. I am open to suggested fixes. Thanks.
  • Dry silicone lube?? Or:

Lance table legs in our TT. Makes the table very stable. Must order from a Lance dealer.

RV table wall bracket. Available at most RV parts vendors. This bracket is normally for use in conjunction with a folding leg but could be installed without a folding leg if you don't ever need to remove and reinstall the table. Could just install a folding leg but you'll be left with holes in the floor from the flanges to deal with.

There's a number of different legs available such as these.

  • What on the leg is squeaking, graphite, powder, tape or similar?

I generally head outside with my coffee cup and ipad and sit out under the awning while I am making and drinking my morning coffee. When my wife wakes up she joins me and then we have beakfast.

Not to get off topic, but that is exactly what a group of us do at our annual gathering in South Dakota each Fall.

Somebody is always first up at the crack of dawn and gets the campfire started as we all filter out of our campers at our leisure with coffee cups in hand. After an hour or so of good morning conversation we all split up for breakfast. What a great life! ;)
  • Take a bar of soap and rub it on the table legs where they go in the table and in the floor. Works pretty well, plus no grease to get on stuff.
  • Thanks for all of the suggestions. I do take that coffee outside when the wind isn't blowing 15-25 mph which is very common here in SW Oklahoma even in the morning. Since our table edge sits about 3 1/2 inches from the wall I don't think the bracket will work. I have some dry silicone spray so I'll try that.

    Like...

The soap sounds like a good idea.
  • Have you tried banging the table down? Those legs tighten up with weight. Additionally on our old table after banging it down I'd give it a little twist; just 1/2" or so, not enough to loosen it again.
