- TerryallanExplorer III pictured swing down "levelers", that screw down. I had them on my pup, and have seen them on TTs. They just swing down as you turn the handle, instead of being a scissior. They work well, and do the same job as a scissior stablizer.
They are NOT levelers. The are only designed to stabilize the trailer, not to level it. You level the trailer side to side, and front to back. And then run the stabilizers down snug. - Old-BiscuitExplorer IIIAre these what you are referring to.....
Doesn't your current rig have stabilizers?
This are OK just more manual labor involved and have weight limitations.
Might be OK for smaller type rig.
Just remember......even though they advertise them as 'levelers' they are just for stabilizing not for leveling.
Even powered ones are just for stabilizing.....unless they are hydraulic
Leveling is done side to side via blocks/boards/lego links etc. and front to rear via tongue jack (or front landing gear on 5vrs) - Caboose66ExplorerThe only swing-down ones I've seen we're like the ones on our 1994 Coleman tent trailer. Pull and swing down, push a lever to drop the telescoping part to the ground and then use a jack handle through holes in the stabilizers to ratchet them tight to the ground... Is that the kind you're referring to? They worked okay for stabilizing such a small trailer. I have to admit that, since it was my first trailer, I probably tried to use them as levelers and ratchet them a little more than I should have, but they were tough. The only time they complained was the first or second time I used that trailer, when the weekend was over, I tried to drive off with them still down. Amazingly, they were still useable after that - TOUGH!!
- WoodGlueExplorerAre you talking about automatic powered power jacks?
