Stink Bugs

Took my AR-One 15RB camping on Sunday and found several stink bugs in my fold-out when I opened it. After I returned home today I discovered there is an opening where the tent material overlaps near the hinge area. Got some heavy nylon material and using "Shoe Goo" I sealed every opening I could find. Then with the fold-out door closed I put silicone caulk in any small holes I found on both ends of the hinge. Time will tell if I was successful or not.

I always find them in our cars, and have not had one in out htt. We had bees coming into our home's bathroom fan duct.

We had them invade our attic and then the house during some construction. The pest control companies were useless... they would agree to take money and come do something, but with zero guarantee for zero days... Happily when we got the house sealed up they dropped off in number from 100's and 100's to 10's. I still find them 1 or 2 at a time here/there two years after the initial infestation.

We live in SW VA & have them by the thousands........ There were hundreds in the camper last fall ruined a vaccum getting them up & dumped & sprayed them with ant & roach killer had 3-4 cups full just from the camper...... Been here 3-4 years now & getting worse..... Before entering the house 10-15 were in the door jam between the storm door & inside door....(every day lately).... Not as bad in the summer but they are coming out & finding a winter home here lately......... Part of the reason that we left the camper in Myrtle Beach for a couple months but will be an issue soon there too I am sure......... many hitch hike.......

I live around a lot of Apple trees and in our area last year I was told they temporary lifted the band on DDT because its the only thing hat will kill them.

Stink bugs are invading Sacramento,, Just reported tonight,,,, they are growing in area size over night!!!!! How do we get rid of them???

The brown marmorated stink bug first hit the United States in Allentown, Pa., in 1998. Since then, it has spread to at least 36 states. The stink bug is thought to have entered the U.S. in a shipping crate from China or Japan, where the bug is a serious pest.

It takes about two years for birds to develop an appetite for the insect. Spiders, preying mantis and other insects will eat the bug, but not in enough numbers to put a dent in the population, which can reach in the millions.

They have become very troublesome, as both the adults and nymphs attack apples, stone fruits, tomatoes, corn and many other crops.

I read they are at there worst in the mid Atlantic states, of course the guys working on the problem are currently on govt lockout.

:h Darn, not a problem yet. Then again, I always believe the term Fight Fire with Fire..... After a weekend of camping with Burgers, greasy bacon, Chily, Chily dogs, and beer. Nothing wants to be near me!!!:E:E:B
