Stink Bugs

I was getting ready for a camping trip next weekend so I was cleaning the HTT. Opened the front bunk and must of had over 100 stink bugs inside. Glad I checked before I got to the campground.LOL Those little suckers seem to find any little space to get into. Last year had them in the heater. I did not check before I turned it on. Took a while to get that smell out of the camper. Anyone else having stink bug problems?
  • I get them all the time... Using the screens over all vents has helped keep them out, but they will always find a way in...
  • They have been in my house this year, by the hundreds. They only seem to like my bedroom (it's on the west side of the house) and they come in one window. I have re-sealed and caulked, but they are still getting in. I take at least a dozen off of one window about 3 times a day. I am looking forward to freezing weather, but I figure we will still be killing them.

We use a pencil and flick them into a large cup with soapy water in it, then dump them down the toilet. That keeps them from releasing their "STINK" and it stinking up the place.
  • Ugh. I stayed at Cherry Hill near DC a few years ago and seemed like it took months for them to all die off. Still finding carcasses.

    Hate those things.

Get some screens for all of your open areas.
  • I just finished getting the last of the lovebugs off the truck. It has been a battle for the past month. They get so thick, you can hardly see out the windshield. And you don't dare leave them to bake in the sun. They are so acidic that pitted paint and chrome awaits if you do. I hardly move the camper during the biannual lovebug seasons. Too much work just keeping the dually maintained.
  • We got back from visiting misty mountain campground right in the VA mountains there. They were ever where. We moved up to cherry hill and found a ton when we opened up there. When we got home and cleaned out the trailer we had more. If we get a booming MI stink bug population we'll probably be ground 0.
  • Me-thinks the little demons are EVERYWHERE!!! I wish they would go back to where they came from.

If you have outdoor furniture, make sure you open your table umbrella before storing it. They like to huddle in there, by the hundreds and possibly thousands.
  • Tons of them in Virginia Beach. Expect to see many near the Blue Ridge Parkway this week.
